The National Heritage of Lebanon is entrenched in a prosperous and ancient land where past civilizations left their imprints of ingenuity, creativity and survival throughout more than 6000 years of history.

They influenced all aspects of our lives and the environment in which we live today.

This natural heritage is distinguished by its exceptional universal significance. Several of its monuments have already been added to the List of the World Heritage.

However these same monuments are continuously threatened by several eroding factors such as atmospheric pollution, neglect, vicious and brutal exploitation of natural resources, consequences of the civil war in addition to vandalism and theft of archeological and artistic property.

The year 1991 marked by peace in Lebanon made the founding of non-governmental organizations dedicated to the protection, promotion and restoration of the Lebanese Heritage possible with the aim of preserving this invaluable wealth for future generations.
