Protection and Management of the National Heritage,
from December 11 to 13, 1997, at Hotel AL BUSTAN, Beit Merry.
 


Twenty-four speakers participated in this seminar, the work and debates resulted in:
• Explaining the actual condition of our heritage and the current Lebanese legislation;
• Exchanging experiences with countries whose heritage is well administered;
• Drawing up recommendations, which could lead to a code of protection of heritage;
• Preparing a project of law on the management of the cultural heritage to be submitted to the Ministry of Culture.
 


Patronage Days (Journées du Mécénat),
from June 15 to 16, 1998, at the “Ecole Supérieure des Affaires” (ESA).
 
An international seminar with the participation of four countries: Lebanon, Jordan, Great Britain and France.
Prepared by the Cultural Agenda and the “Ecole Supérieure des Affaires” (ESA) with the participation of the National Heritage Foundation. The seminar resulted in creating a fund for this purpose.
 

“Cultural Tourism: Which role for Municipalities?”,
from March 1 to 2, 2001, at the Faculty of Literature and Human Sciences, Saint-Joseph University, Beirut.
 
An international colloquium was held with the participation of 5 countries (Lebanon, Jordan, Great Britain, France and Syria) as well as international organisms such as The World Bank and UNESCO, with the cooperation of the section of “Touristic and Cultural Planning”, Saint-Joseph University and the Cultural Agenda. The results of the seminar were the creation of a Lebanese Observatory for Cultural Tourism.
 

For a concretization of the cooperation between municipal counsels, NGOs and publics administrations, in favor of the Heritage,
from September 26 to 27, 2002, at the Syndicate of Engineers, Beirut.
 
The seminar was organized by the National Heritage Foundation in collaboration with the Syndicate of Engineers and the participation of the Ministries of Culture, of Public Work and Transport, of Environment, of Interior and Municipalities.
The seminar revealed the importance of mutual help and complementarily planified work, in order to establish a strategy and a plan of action aiming to protect and conserve the national heritage.
The recommendations of the seminar and the different interventions of the municipalities and the NGOs were regrouped and published. The National Heritage Foundation bestowed, at the closing session of the seminar, symbolic prizes, for the Municipality of Bkassin (South Lebanon) and the Association of the Friends of the Sea of Anfeh (North Lebanon).
